These zinc or aluminum bolt-on plate anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of protected metals, ensuring the longevity of your boat. Clean and replace them regularly to maintain optimum protection. Note that when anodes are worn beyond 60%, their protective effectiveness diminishes considerably.
For salt water, choose between zinc alloy or aluminum alloy anodes. The lighter aluminum anode, with its high electronegative potential, is particularly suitable for protecting aluminum hulls. For freshwater sailing, opt for a magnesium anode.
