This Furuno SCX21 Compass uses four separate GNSS antennas to provide precise and reliable heading to marine electronic equipment. It improves the performance of radars, fish finders, sonars, and autopilots, contributing to safer navigation.

INNOVATIVE 4-ANTENNA DESIGN

The Furuno SCX21 Compass stands out for its four-antenna design. Unlike traditional compasses, it calculates heading via six baseline vectors, ensuring accuracy even in the presence of obstructions. This design allows for precise calculation of heading, pitch, roll, and heave, which is particularly useful for complex installations.

FUNCTIONS AND CONNECTIVITY

The compass relays critical data when connected to compatible Furuno devices, such as NavNet TZtouch MFDs, NAVpilot300, FI70, and GP39. Displayed information includes 3-axis speed, pitch, roll, heave, Rate of Turn (RoT), and heading (HDG).

Precise heading information optimizes the performance of navigation equipment, allowing the NAVpilot to maintain a better course, thereby reducing navigation time, fuel consumption, and overall costs. Additionally, pitch, roll, and heave information stabilize fish finder displays, offering an accurate representation of echoes even in rough seas. Connected to a Furuno radar, the compass improves the accuracy of determining the movement of the vessel and other surrounding vessels, with precise speed and heading data for smooth radar target display. It also allows Furuno fish finders to display a stable image thanks to pitch and roll information, even in adverse weather conditions.

This compass weighs 1 kg, has a tracking rate of 45°/sec, and offers IP56 waterproofing. Its power supply is 12V, with a connection via 1 NMEA0183 port. It uses four Multi GNSS antennas (GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, Galileo).
