A male plug will allow you to connect the lights of your boat trailer on your car. The plug is easy to install, it allows you to repeat the function of the rear lights of your vehicle on your trailer.
The differences between the 7-pin and 13-pin plugs are as follows. The 7-pin plugs are only used for basic lighting (parking lights, brake lights, turn signals...). This is more than enough to hitch a boat trailer. The 13 pins male plugs , can also be used for basic lighting , but they can also be used to provide a 12 volts continuous power supply available on the hitch socket. The 13-pin plugs will mainly be used for a power supply for example on board a caravan.
