When an anode is worn beyond 60%, it no longer has the protective capacity to protect your boat. An anode used in seawater should not be composed in the same way as an anode used in freshwater.
In fact, in the sea, you need an anode made of either zinc or aluminum alloys. At equal intensity, an aluminum anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a higher electronegative potential and pollutes less.
