With these Wichard Waterproof Axis Shackles, you don't need a stainless steel thimble or knot.
Splice your rope or halyard directly onto the shackle to perfect the finish and strength of your system.
The pin locks into notches, which prevents unintentional unscrewing. It is also captive when unscrewed. For definitive fastenings, prefer shackles with a hexagonal shaft.
