Team Maxime Sorel
V and B, Monbana & Mayenne commit to stand alongside Maxime Sorel
A trained civil engineer, Maxime Sorel took his first tacks in front of Port Mer in Cancale. He cut his teeth in light sailing and got a taste for the open sea on Pascal Quintin's Multi50. He completed his first transatlantic race in the Route du Rhum in 2014.
From a very young age, Maxime Sorel has been aware of the fight against cystic fibrosis. Formerly an active member with his family during the Virades de l'Espoir, he became a fervent ambassador from his first Route du Rhum. After 5 years of raising awareness of this disease, he is now designated as a national sponsor alongside Laurence Ferrari.
Once upon a time, there was an alliance of emblematic brands united for one and the same cause: to defeat cystic fibrosis. Since his first Route du Rhum in 2014 with V and B, it was in 2019 that the Mayenne département joined the project to embark on a first Vendée Globe in 2020/21. Monbana is consolidating this union. Together, the partners of skipper Maxime Sorel built the IMOCA V and B - Monbana - Mayenne, named "The Dragon of the Oceans".
Maxime Sorel's "Double Everest"
In May 2023, the skipper achieved the feat of reaching the summit of Everest located 8,848 meters above sea level. After a first Vendée Globe completed in 82 days, one more challenge met by Maxime and his team.
The outfitter was chosen to supply Maxime and his team with technical clothing.
